It's the last day before a holiday weekend so we all know what that means. To enable me in my fatty pursuits there's a birthday cake across the hall.

Last night I bought the rest of the supplies I needed to make grog but I was way too tired by the time I got home. And lazy. I'm a terrible pirate.

The Golden Gophers are once again in town for the Music City Bowl. I should put out a hot dish.

I love reading, and I don't care how dorky that sounds. I also like NPR, so suck it, y'all. Right now I'm reading Saving Fish from Drowning by Amy Tan and it is FABULOUS. I sheepishly admit that I've never read anything by Tan before, but I have seen a movie-ization and she can flat tell a story like nobody's business.

Anyway, in a scant few hours my holiday weekend will officially begin. I've got a weekend full of social events on my calendar, so it should be good times. I'll be rockin out and, when not rockin out, sleeping.
