    Downtown Nashville

I don't spend too much time downtown, I suppose it's my dislike of less than ample parking. There's this crazy hodgepodge of old buildings and new construction with old faded ads and weird exposed sides of buildings that should have never been exposed. I'm thinking one day it might be fun to get a few extra packs of 669 polaroid film and head downtown. But you're not here to read about that sort of thing, if you were you'd be over at lileks.com.

So after a delicious lunch Steve and I headed to the TN State Museum for old timey music and mummy hunting. When my mom was a high schooler the big deal was to get to go to Nashville and see the mummy. It's kind of hidden but well worth finding. The mummy even has a cat. Right now there's this cool exhibit of country music memorabilia, you should go. It did nothing, however, to assuage my desire for some Manuel clothing and/or accessories.

Finally, my trip back home included a stop at the now closing Tower Records. I figured it was as good a time as any. I did manage to get a few things I'd wanted for some time but just never got around to getting.

C'est tout. We're lazy around here.

Do you remember the mummy at the museum here in Jacksonville? That thing scared the hell out of me. I remember running past it all the time, sometimes crying.

There's a *fantastic* geocache in Downtown Nashville near a guitar store with a huge Gibson ad on it's exterior wall. Ch-ch-check it out!
